Media Hint is an extension for Firefox that allows you to watch what you want, when you want. Nothing is worse than sitting down to watch a new show you just heard was added to Netflix, only to discover it is blocked in your region. The same thing happens to numerous videos on YouTube, Hulu and even to music on Pandora. Many web users throw their hands up in frustration and consider it a hopeless task, but you do not have to. With Media Hint's functionality, any show you want to watch is just a few clicks away, no matter what region you might be in.
Frequent travelers appreciate the program because it allows them to watch their favorite shows, even in countries where they might otherwise be unable. For instance, the majority of Asia does not allow access to Netflix or other video services – with Media Hint, that region lock just goes away. Best of all, the program is absurdly simple to install. At just 68 kilobytes, it barely registers as taking up space on a modern system, and the installation handles everything for you. There is no manual set up. Because it is a Firefox add-on, it is accessible through their menu. However, in the event you want to disable it for any reason, it is as simple as installing it – just choose it in the menu and select the appropriate option.
The extension is constantly receiving updates, so while it does not work for all media sites just yet, it likely will soon. It works on Windows Vista as of now, but support for other operating systems is on the way. Best of all, for those who are not fond of Firefox, there is a Google Chrome extension that shares the same functions.
Media Hint is completely free to use, so there's no need to worry about paying a licensing fee or additional costs on top of your standard monthly bill.
